Ying is originally from Guangzhou, China, and is a freelance documentary filmmaker and video journalist based in San Francisco and Bay Area. Soon after she graduated from NYU News and Documentary program, her thesis film Slow Angels won the 38th College Television Award – Loreen Arbus Focus on Disability Scholarship and was selected at Asian American International Film Festival. Ximei, the film she worked as the solo editor has been selected into various international film festivals, including 2019 St. Louis International Film Festival, and had its world premiere on FIFDH in Geneva, Switzerland in March 2019.
Ying is now working for Atma Global Knowledge Media, a leading-edge developer and publisher of innovative global learning solutions focusing on countries, cultures and global business topics. She creates and edits digital content, which has been used by more than two and a half million users, including professionals in diverse industries in the global Fortune 1000; professors and students at leading university around the world.
